Nicely maintained, very shady. Straight and little to no grade. Makes for a peaceful easy bike ride.
This trail covers City and wooded areas. Starting in Alpharetta is good. Great boardwalks, shaded scenery. Great Day Ride! Saw some Dear and other wildlife.
Very peaceful trail with an occasional visit by deer & turkeys. A really peaceful walk.
The trail is really nice, it just needs to be 2 or 3 times longer. Listed on TrailLink as 7.3 miles, but posted with markers as 5.6.
We loved the trail and rode it round trip multiple times to train for our Katy trail tour. We and our bikes got really dusty and dirty, but that wasn’t a big deal. Do be careful at the traffic crossings.
I walked this trail yesterday, and it was one of the most magical experiences. I brought my dog along, and he was able to cool off with a dip in the water when he started to get too hot. I highly recommend this trail to anyone looking for a peaceful, paved, path shaded by trees, with beautiful views of the water.
Pleasant trail through wooded marshlands, but the southern end (from about 3 mi. north of Fowler Park south) is largely boardwalk, which a bit dicey for thin-tired road bikes. Also, as of 10/2024 a bridge was closed at about 3.5 miles north of Fowler Park.
We’re from Charlotte, we have a trail similar to Big Creek (Sugar Creek), not nearly as long…we really enjoyed our ride and look forward to coming back.
mellow, beautifully paved and short trail perfect after a long drive on winding roads. Good place to watch the ww rafters start their adventure. Next time, we plan to join!
